Anomalies in Triplicate

Three long chains of fused monster faces stretch across the canvas, with a fanged grinning cat at the heart of the middle one.

By morning, the bottom creature had grown two faces that made everyone flinch. They were rotting skulls with blurred, chattering teeth, painted by abhijoysarkar. The organizer, danielailustra, called them a nightmare and admitted sleep was off the table. Then abhijoysarkar gave the pair names. Sam and Tim, they said, are kindergarten teachers. The chat dissolved into laughter, and danielailustra decided that Sam and Tim would be the ones haunting their dreams that night.
