The Rising of the Phoenix

A phoenix bursts upward out of crimson flames, wings flared wide inside an ornate frame with leaf-shaped corners.

Late at night the background looked bare, and it was too early for the wings to open. Anza--c found an idea in old legend. The phoenix lived in Eden and refused the apple, so it earned eternal life. Four painters split the canvas into corners and grew an apple tree around the bird. By morning a grand frame had arrived. The branches felt crowded, so Danielailustra cleared them for flames. Anza--c simply cheered the new look.
