Anthropomorphic Animals

Eight swappable animal portraits in old-fashioned finery, including a top-hatted tiger whose bare belly bursts out of its tuxedo.

The rules were loose. Heads and bodies were drawn apart, so nothing had to match. Deanharvey painted a tuxedo stretched over a huge bare belly and joked that the body was so wide it left no room for a background. Then it landed under Abhijoysarkar's top-hatted tiger. The pairing fit perfectly. By evening, the theme's proposer called it a favorite, and another painter said it belonged in the Louvre.
